Successful completion of newly-built part. Now ready for new furnishing
We have now entered the last phase of the newly-built part of the Information Center Canadian Cemetery Holten. Last Thursday, February 20, was the completion date of the renovated building. Now it is time to start furnishing it.
The board, the building commission, the personnel of De Groot Vroomshoop, Huisman Installatietechniek and André Deyk (supervisor of the cemetery), together celebrated this special moment. “The building has been considerably extended so that we can now entertain a large group of visitors in a separate room”, says Albert Boode, chairman.
Bringing stories to life
Designing firm Kingkorn is about to start working on the new experience room. This firm is really bringing our national heritage to life in museums, so that the past can be experienced. Albert Boode: ”This is also going to play a role in the renovated information center. Some of the soldiers that are buried here on the Canadian cemetery are going to tell their stories in the form of holograms”.
Replacing and connecting these presentations will take some more weeks. On April 8 2020, the Information Center Canadian Cemetery is set to open their renovated building!
