On May 4, 2025, the 80th anniversary memorial will take place at the Canadian Cemetery in Holten. Here rest 1,394 Canadian soldiers who gave their lives for our freedom during World War II. Various organizations, including the municipality of Rijssen-Holten, are involved in the memorial. At the request of the organizers, we provide the following information about the event.

This year, the memorial will be organized on a grand scale, with special attention to the presence of relatives of the Canadian liberators and guest speakers from Canada, who will join us in honoring the immense sacrifices of these heroes.

The ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the cemetery and will focus on gratitude, reflection, and remembrance. Due to the expected large turnout and limited space at the location, we are using admission tickets this year to ensure the memorial is conducted in a respectful manner.

We warmly invite you to join us in remembering the liberators and keeping their memories alive, now and for future generations.
